Dr. Eben Alexander’s book Proof of Heaven is an account of his spiritual awakening through an NDE. As a narrative tale, it’s likely to be discounted by any serious scientific skeptic but it does lend weight to the discipline of NDE research. The benefit of the book in this context is Alexander provides a very thoughtful case-report on his NDE written specifically for a skeptical medical audience as he was prior to the experience.
